When you rent storage space at one of our locations, we want you to know a few things. Top of the list: You’re renting more than just the storage unit itself — as spacious and accessible as it is. When you rent a Seattle storage unit from us, you’re also hiring our people.

Peoples Storage is a local, family-owned self-storage facility with three convenient locations in the Seattle metro area. For 40 years, we’ve provided our Pacific Northwest community with secure, state-of-the-art, professionally managed storage spaces.


When you choose Peoples, we welcome you with a smile at all three of our locations: Ballard, Kenmore, and Everett. Each location is staffed by Seattle storage experts seven days a week. What’s more, our managers live on site!

We focus first on customer service at our storage units in Ballard, Everett and Kenmore. It starts with a clean, well-lit facility and secure storage units designed with your comfort and security in mind. State-of-the-art monitoring tools and private gate access codes create a personal space for you to store and access your valuables.


That personal space extends to our friendly and knowledgeable staff. They are there to make sure you get the space, packing supplies, and efficient service you came looking for at our storage units.

When can I access my storage unit?

Hours of access are from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily — 365 days a year.

Does management live on-site?

Yes. All our facilities have on-site managers.

Do I have to sign a long-term lease?

No, we rent month to month.

How secure will my things be?

You choose a private access code that allows you access to your unit. Managers live on-site, and we provide state-of-the-art security, including video surveillance.

Can I transfer to a smaller or larger storage unit if that should become necessary?

Yes, we can transfer you to a unit that fits your needs at anytime during your rental without penalty. You just pay the difference in rent if there is any.

Do you charge an administrative fee?

No. We charge a refundable security deposit.

Do you insure my goods?

No. Self-storage facilities cannot provide insurance. However, we can direct you to an insurance provider, or you may check with your renters or homeowners insurance company.

What does climate control mean, and why should I care about that?

It means that your stored items will not freeze nor will they accumulate condensation. Heat and circulating fans throughout the facility prevent them from doing so.

Do you rent trucks or offer a free truck with a move-in?

We are storage professionals. We rely on and recommend local truck rentals and moving companies.

You say your storage is on multi-levels. Do I have to climb stairs?

No. You can either access your goods from the level you are on, or at some facilities, we have multiple large elevators.

How do I move my stuff to my unit? Do I have to bring a dolly?

We provide large carts for your use to assist your move.

I need packing supplies. Can you recommend some place to purchase those?

We carry a full line of moving and packing supplies at each location.

How do I estimate how many boxes I'll need?

Do you take debit or credit cards?

We take Visa/MasterCard/Discover credit cards, plus checks, cash and money orders.

How can I pay my rent?

You can pay in person, by mail, by using the drop box or door slot in front of the office, by phone with a credit card, via our secure payment website using a credit card or direct payment from your checking account, via money order, via an automatically recurring payment, or with cash (just as good as money!).

I need to store some stuff, but I don't know what size space I need.

Peoples Storage expert staff will be able to help you determine the size storage you will need.

Will my moving truck be able to get to my storage unit?

Yes, all of our facilities have been designed to accommodate the largest of moving trucks.

Can I get 24-hour access to my storage?

We don’t offer 24-hour access to any tenants in order to provide the best possible security to all of them.
